It’s a great time to optimize your website. There are more instant gratification SEO software packages available today than ever before in search engine optimization’s twelve-year (or so) history.
But of course, they’re not all good. Some are simply a waste of money while others can get you banned on certain search engines forever! So how do you tell the good from the bad? That’s where we come in.
SEO Software Survey was co-founded and is run by Margo Little, an eleven-year veteran of teaching search engine optimization seminars and the use of SEO tools to optimizers of all types; from marketing gurus to do-it-yourselfers. And although Margo manages the site, she gets a lot of helpful input from SEO experts the world over that are eager to share their insider tips and opinions on all the latest products. She enlisted the help of fifty right off the bat by requesting thefill out a quick, three-question survey, the results of which are posted below.)
The site is still new but we have some great stuff to start you off in your quest for the ultimate SEO software tools. Here are three of our top picks, each of which covers a key topic to SEO success. You will notice there are two links on each. The first is to a review page on this site and the second is to products home page so you can get full details, download an evaluation copy, etc.
Keyword Selection Tool
Of fifty SEO professionals polled, twenty-nine (58%) recommended the same keyword selection tool - Keyword Elite by Bryxen Software, Inc.
We can’t say we’re surprised. Two of the world’s most popular Internet marketers; Mark Joyner and John Reese swear by it in written testimonial. And the fact that it’s only $176, with free lifetime upgrades doesn’t hurt its popularity.

Website Evaluation
The ability to examine, evaluate and then properly optimize a web page is one of the most difficult things for those new to search engine optimizer to master. And for good reason, there’s A LOT to it and competition has never been more, for any given keyword, than it is today. In fact, it’s almost impossible to find even a secondary keyword that does not have at least a quarter million competing web pages on Google.
Due to the complexity, this software tends to cost a bit more, sometimes often over $500. But twent-three (46%) of the same fifty SEO professionals polled selected a product that costs half that – and works better than any other I have personally ever used; iBuisness Promoter.
This is the SEO tool of choice for major companies like eBay, Lexmark, Cannon, Motorola – the list goes on. They offer both a “standard edition” for $250 and a “business edition” for $450. If you just have a few sites to manage, then the standard edition is fine. If you have more than 5 sites it’s worth it to go with the business edition. If nothing else, check out their client list. It’s pretty amazing to see the companies whose secret SEO weapon of choice you could be using.

Multi-purpose SEO and Link Building
Linking is responsible for up to 90% of your ranking success on Google. That said; an SEO tool that can handle your linking needs is a must have. And picking that tool was not easy for this crew as a twenty-two (44%) of the fifty surveyed selected SEO Elite, also by Bryxen Software, Inc. while iBusiness Promoter got a close second place with nineteen votes for 38%.
SEO Elite does a lot more than find the best possible link partners and manage your link building campaign, but that’s the big part we are most excited about. Most people buy it for the low cost ($167) and keep it for the results.
